Description

Many otherwise-brave knitters are intimidated by charts. There are a few tips and tricks not often explained in patterns, and once you know those, you'll be well on your way to knitting a pattern that doesn't include written directions!

In this approachable class, Toby will cover frequently-used chart symbols for both lace and cables. You'll make some practice swatches using basic charts and then, once everyone is comfortable, move on to a slightly more complicated one.

Materials:

smooth scrap yarn and corresponding needles, highlighters or markers in an assortment of colors, post-it notes.

About Toby Roxane Barna


Toby Roxane Barna is an independent knitwear designer living and working in the Hudson River Valley. She studied knitwear design at the London College of Fashion, and started her career as a full-time independent knitwear designer in 2012. Since then she has released over 70 patterns and multiple books. She spends her time designing knitting patterns in a lovely studio and counting down to the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival. Unless otherwise indicated, our classes are for adults only. Your registration is valid for the dates listed in the description and may not be transferred to other class dates.
