Join author, designer and podcaster Mary Beth Temple to learn the basics of the broomstick lace technique, including beginning, increasing, decreasing, and incorporating other stitches while learning to make a scarf. Broomstick lace is one of the extended techniques that both crocheters and knitters seem to be more and more interested in, and it’s a lot more versatile than most people suspect.

  • Broomstick needle - 25mm. Straight is preferred over circular as circular is hard to handle when you're learning.

  • Crochet hook size 6mm

  • Worsted weight yarn

About Mary Beth Temple

Mary Beth Temple is an author, designer and podcaster. After successful careers as both a costumer in the entertainment arena in NYC, and an antiques dealer specializing in nineteenth- and twentieth-century textiles and decoratives, Mary Beth is now a full time author/designer of both knitting and crochet patterns. Her work appears frequently in knitting and crochet magazines including Knit Simple, Vogue Knitting Crochet, Interweave Crochet, The Knitter (UK) and Inside Crochet (UK). She is the owner and lead designer for the pattern line Hooked for Life, which is available both online and in independent yarn stores.

Class fees are not refundable unless the class is canceled by the shop. If cancellation is made outside of 72 hours of class start time, you will be provided with a store credit for use for any future purchase with the shop. Unless otherwise indicated, our classes are for adults only. Your registration is valid for the dates listed in the description and may not be transferred to other class dates.

Wound yarn or yarn smelling of smoke or containing pet hair may not be returned. Unfortunately, there are no returns on gift cards, needles, notions, books, patterns or discounted yarns.
