Learn to cast on stitches, knit, purl and fix mistakes in this introduction to knitting. If you haven't knitted in years and just need a refresher, this is also the course for you. Students will learn all of the basic knitting skills needed to start a ribbed scarf project.

If you are looking to get a well rounded "knit education," also register for the Simple Beret as your second class.


Prerequisites: None!



Bring or purchase at class:

200-300 yards worsted wool, merino, or other natural fiber. We suggest Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd's Wool or Berroco Pure Merino.

US#8 needles, straight or circular

Darning needle

Recommended: Interweave Knits Knitter's Companion or Stitch n Bitch by Debbie Stoller
*It is not recommended that you use straight metal needles, cotton or acrylic fibers or dark colors. Be sure to come to the shop early enough to have your supplies purchased and wound. We are happy to help with selection!
